Going from well-cured to freshly cooked, Point of Contention follows up an 18th-century romp ("The Wonder") with an evening of itty-bitty world premieres. At their best, short-play festivals can display the cheap and infinite possibilities of theater. They can also be pretty dire. But PoC's last production, "The Wonder," by near-forgotten 1700s hitmaker Susanna Centlivre, displayed a forward-thinking intelligence. Welcome to 2009.
