Gwendolyn Whiteside Review
Gwendolyn does an amazing performance in K of D! She is able to portray 16 different characters in such a way that the audience can easily distinguish one character from another. A must see!

Babes With Blades Review
I saw a great show last weekend: An Affair of Honor. Babes With Blades - has been toiling away in the trenches for years, honing their skills and putting up shows with scenes to showcase them in. With this production, they take the potential they have been distilling all that time and explode out into full-flower. The show is solid - top-to-bottom. But beyond being simply entertaining, the stories told here allow for reflection on pieces of women's history, social commentary and thought - as well as some keen glimpses into the emotions that drive the violence.

In may shows, the audience is left with the feeling that the scene has been created as an excuse for the fights. Here - the Babes With Blades company has created a show worthy of weaving its fighting skills within as another fine element of a rich and rewarding experience. I hope will mark the begining of a new era for this company - and it's a treat for the audiences that see it! Go and see this great show!

Triplette Review
I am such a fan of these gals! I've seen both of their sketch shows and one improv show. All have been amazing. It's really exciting to see this ensemble grow.

Steve James Review
Everyonce in a while I pick up a film at the video store that enables me to take my nose out of the clouds and look at what this life truly has to offer.

"Stevie" by Steve James fit that nail right on the head. It is truly refreshing to see a film maker create a movie about those less fortunate in life. A film that doesn't make fun of anyone's limitations, but shows what they actually do have.

When I began watching this film I must admit I caught myself looking down on Stevie and his girlfriend. I found myself viewing them as backwoods and not up to speed with the real world. But, as the film progressed forward I found myself in awe of Stevie's girlfriend, and how some of the things she said were so profound, innocent, and true. What was more shocking is when she and Stevie came to see her best friend in Chicago. I was watching the film and thinking here are two people that the rest of the world sees as not quite up to speed on things, making these terrifyingly accurate statments about Stevie and where his life was going.

Thankyou Sincerely, James Jones

p.s. Is there any contact with Stevie as of today, and will we be able to see more of his life. God knows the mans done some wrong things, but he's also been beat down quite a bit. Once his sentence is over I would like to see if the cream can rise to the top!

Colin Stinton Review
I just finished listening to the audio CD version of the "Da Vinci Code" read and 'performed' by Colin Stinton. Obviously the book is excellent, but it was wonderfully enhanced as performed by Mr. Stinton. He is an amazing reader, and has an incredible vocal range that facilitates depicting the characters in the most entertaining and 'visual' of ways. Audio publishing houses should take note of this performance and employ the services of this gifted actor whenever possible. I look forward to hearing more of Mr. Stintons' work in the future

Fred Applegate Review
I worked with Fred Applegate 25 years ago at Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island, Ill., when he was playing King Pellinore in "Camelot." (I was one of the knights.) He was a delightful comic actor, a real audience favorite during his time there. I'm delighted to see he's now playing Max Bialystock in "The Producers" on Broadway, as of late September 2003. (Footnote: another knight in that long-ago production of "Camelot" was Chicago actor Don Forston ...)

Upright Citizens Brigade Review
I was a big fan of the original series that ran on Comedy Central back in 1997-1998 and looked forward to seeing them live during their "ASSCat 2000" show. I was not disappointed as three of the original cast, Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, and Ian Roberts came out with 7 other improv comedians including SNL's & Longtime UCB friend Horatio Sanz. The show reflected on current events and sketch comedy much like their TV show, just without the costumes and elaborate sets. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting NYC or even to locals who've never taken the opportunity. At $7 a ticket, it's more than worth the cost.

Gary Sinise Review
I have nothing but the highest respect for Gary Sinise, because he takes the time to support our troops and wounded. I am a crypto-analyst with the Navy and had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Sinise at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD on the 11th of September, 2003. This was a high-point in my life because Mr. Sinise is one of my all-time favorite actors. I respect his acting ability as well as his attitude.

Jeff Kwit Review
Jeff Kwit is outrageously funny. A seasoned local actor, writer, director, and singer, Jeff offers a little of everything to his audiences. His work can definitely claim across-the-board appeal, but the neighborhood flavor of his writing is especially fun for locals. His annual comedy shows are truly "must see" productions. Lucky for us, we can also enjoy Jeff's comedic genius as a local karaoke DJ, and as a contributor of articles to many local newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, The Daily Herald, and others.

Plumb Line Productions Review
A solid and energetic rendition of David Mamet's Bobby Gould in Hell. The people at Plumb Line Productions decided to take advantage of one of Mamet's looser comedies and really let loose. Definitely actor driven theater, it was still visually stimulating and comfortable. It will be interesting to see what they come up with next.

Black Ensemble Theatre Review
I saw the Jackie Wilson Story in Washington DC, while the Black Ensemble was on tour. Mr. Gregory was great as Jackie Wilson, but Valarie Tekosky, "Etta James", stoled the show. That actress is all that! A booming voice & presence! I'm sure Ms. Tekosky is headed for Broadway.
