Sno Caps and popcorn come to mind when thinking of cinema snacks, but Bogart's Bar and Grill preludes your Muvico-Rosemont 18 Theaters experience with Bogart burgers and buffalo chicken salads. According to its introduction, this classic American grill and bar brings a "two thumbs up" dining experience right outside the theatre.
Fusing several favorite pastimes seems the trend, as the environment hardly removes itself from the concepts of Ten Pin, GameWorks and Lucky Strike. Flat screens, tuned to sports events, hang over a bar lit by recessed lighting. A few tables on the balcony offer a view of the lobby below. A larger formal-dining area awaits groups, however, the menu carries over the same casual American fare.
Burgundy drapes and carpeting, a high ceiling, along with mirrored walls aside counter seating, revisits the art deco era of Humphrey Bogart's prime. The waiters, clearly experienced in high-traffic dining, deliver piping hot plates for an entire table without the three extra trips to the kitchen.
As for the bar, two gentlemen hold it down, making for increased wait times on busy evenings, especially considering the simple martini menu: peach, pomegranate, strawberry, mango and appletinis. Assortments of non-alcoholic "mocktails" also sell, like the Bogie Berry Bash. You can stick with traditional bar choices like quesadillas, wings or calamari, $3.50-$12. However, if time allows, try the house made pot roast simmered with carrots and pearl onions, served with cheddar mashed potatoes and crispy onion straws, $16. Pamper yourself with parking, complimentary coat check and reserved balcony seats in the theatre for $17.50.
Average cost: $10-$20
